(13 December 2018. Pasay City, Philippines) SM Investments Corporation (SMIC) and BDO Unibank Inc. were cited as leaders in sustainability and governance, claiming the prestigious Platinum Awards during the 18th Corporate Awards by Hong Kong-based magazine, The Asset.
SMIC was cited as among the leaders in Environmental, Social, and Governance and among the outstanding achievers, having won the Platinum Award, the highest honors, for the 10th consecutive year. BDO Unibank Inc. was also given the prestigious Platinum award for the ninth year.
The Asset Corporate Awards are the longest-running ESG awards in Asia given annually since 2000. Factors that are taken into consideration for a company’s eligibility range from an evaluation of financial performance, management, corporate governance, social and environmental responsibility, and investor relations.
The awardees of The Asset Corporate Awards 2018 were honored at a gala dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong last December 10, 2018.
