Richard Torres and his friends have one thing in common – their love for coffee! But with many cafés in the market, they wanted to introduce coffee with an ‘oomph’ and that is exactly what Nitro 7 Coffee and Tea Bar is!
“Nitro coffee is cold brew coffee that is infused with nitrogen,” shares Richard. “It’s a low-acidity coffee that’s bold and full-bodied.” The infused nitrogen brings out the sweet notes in Nitro 7 coffee and subdues the bitter taste. It is also thick and creamy which offers similar frothy texture like beer, and it is also served via tap like draft beer.
Nitro Coffee also offers benefits for health-conscious coffee drinkers. “Nitro coffee serves as an energy drink without any added sweetener. It also has low-acidity levels which goes well with customers with hyperacidity or GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease),” explains Richard.
For nitro coffee drinkers, black is still in! “The Black Nitro is our signature drink,” expounds Richard. But other popular flavors also include Hazelnut Caramel Mocha, Irish Crème, Peppermint Mocha and Chocolate Macadamia.
Introducing a new brand and a new way of drinking coffee is not an easy task. Richard expresses how their strong partnership with SM has helped introduce the Nitro Coffee drinking culture to the Philippine market and helped build Nitro 7. “Being in SM helped make our brand look ‘legit’ from the start. Visibility is key, especially in the beginning, and our island café in Megamall provided us with some much-needed exposure.”
